New Smartphone Maker to Enter US Shores This Month

There's a new smartphone player that's about to enter the US market.

Earlier today, French phone maker Wiko unveiled its plans to launch its products in the US shores this month. They launched a dedicated website to their US customers where it introduced itself as among the top four mobile device makers in Western Europe.

With its launch in the US, Wiko wishes to provide its customers a smartphone option that carries their essential needs. But instead of offering an expensive smartphone, Wiko plans to do it by creating an affordable option for smartphone purchases.

To this day, Wiko already sells devices in over 30 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. As reported by Phone Scoop, Wiko plans to open offices in Plano and Atlanta.

We'll keep an eye on Wiko's entry in the country. In the meantime, you can learn more about Wiko here.

  1. While it doesn't determine whether the phones will be a good value, Wiko is actually a subsidiary of a Chinese company, Tinno, which sells their Chinese manufactured devices. Their guess is that an unknown French company might have better luck than an unknown Chinese one in the U.S.

  2. There is a Wiko on Boost, and also a new flip phone..the Coolpad Snap.
