Boost Mobile Makes Changes to Wi-Fi Hotspot Plans

Boost Mobile has given its data-only plans some much needed refreshing.

The new changes were observed by Wave7 Research and reflect the following:

  • $25 hotspot plan with 1.5GB data - retired plan
  • $50 hotspot plan - now includes 50GB of hard-capped data instead of 10GB

Since the Sprint prepaid brand decided to retire the $25 hotspot plan, it is no longer available to new customers. However, existing customers under the plan may keep it.

With the new change, only the $50 hotspot plan is available. You can get more information about this plan by visiting Boost Mobile's page.

  1. Personally I'm thrilled. I've used a Boost Mobile hotspot as my main internet connection for about 2 years. I seldom made it thru the month on 10G because I watch a lot of videos (Youtube, Netflix, etc). Suddenly I have 50G instead of 10G for the same $50. My brother kidded me about not having a "real" internet connection - well, I have one now. It's pretty fast most of the time, and very economical.

Good luck to all you other cable cutters out there.

    1. You are absolutely correct, over the course of 4 months I spent $1200 U.S. dollars because I used Boost Mobile Broadband hotspot for my job in a very rural area without access to other carriers, and this is because I spent approximately $300 a month for 60G over the course of a month. Therefore, the fact that I get 50G per month for $50 is finally what it should have always been. Only in America can a company fleece its consumers, in 3rd world countries where I've lived, I have never spent more than maybe $400 a year for UNLIMITED internet access yet spent $1200 in 4 months with Boost, but not anymore finally.
