Leak Shows Samsung's Next Rugged Smartphone

Samsung is expected to release a new mid-range rugged Galaxy smartphone this year. Although it has not yet been able to announce this year's model, there are reports that it could be launching this month.

German website, Winfuture.de, has insider information on the latest Samsung Galaxy Xcover 4S smartphone. The website has published a number of press images that showcase Samsung's newest rugged smartphone. In addition to the photos, there are a few specs that detail what will be included in this year's model.

Among the specs included in the publication are a 5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720p. From within, the phone is expected to run with Exynos 7885 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB expandable storage. Camera-wise, the Galaxy Xcover 4S is said to have a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel sensor in front.

As a rugged device, the Galaxy Xcover 4S includes IP68 and MIL-STD 810G certification. There is a 2,800mAh battery included with no fingerprint sensor.

The device is said to be on sale in Germany starting June 12th. Its price will be 250 or about $281.
