LG K40 Launching Soon in the US

LG's third flagship smartphone for 2019 is finally getting launched.

We first knew about the LG K40 when it was announced back in February. Unfortunately, there has been no mention of a release date.

Thankfully, this changes today as LG gears up to launch the LG K40. As a matter of fact, the device is now listed on Best Buy's website as "coming soon". It does include a $179.99 price for the unlocked model.

So what can we expect from this low end smartphone?

For starters, the LG K40 comes with a 5.7-inch display with a 720x1440 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB expandable storage space. There is an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor for selfies and video calls. Other features include a 3,000mAh battery, dedicated Google Assistant button, fingerprint scanner, shock resistance, and 3D surround sound. Upon release, the phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo OS.

The unlocked model works with Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile; as well as the prepaid brands that run under these networks.

  1. A $179 phone is not a flagship.

Methinks you have NFI what you're talking about, Christine.

  4. There are better phones that can be had for the same price or even less. The Blu Vivo XL4 and Blu G9 as well as several models from Umidigi come to mind. And there are others. For starters, I would avoid ANY Android phone with less than 3GB of RAM. This phone is overpriced for what is offers.
