Samsung Galaxy A51 Confirmed for US Release

It looks like the hottest trend for the smartphone industry this year is that mid-range smartphones are making a huge impact on sales compared to high-end models. This is one lesson that Samsung learned from its Chinese competitors in the last few years.

Thankfully, Samsung introduced a competitive lineup last year under the Galaxy A-series. Out of the series, Samsung's Galaxy A50 smartphone turned out to be the most successful device around the world. Following its footsteps, the Samsung Galaxy A51 mid-range smartphone is set to hit the US market real soon.

And as confirmed, the Galaxy A51 will be coming to the four major carriers in the country. The big date, however, has not yet been disclosed. The device is already available on eBay as a factory unlocked model. But for the device's official release across carriers, that remains to be seen. In addition to the release date, there is no confirmed price yet for the device when it launches. But it could very well be near the $350 price point that last year's A50 model was sold.

As for the specs, the Galaxy A51 comes with a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 1080x2400 resolution. From within, the phone will run on a 2.3GHz Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 9611 processor with 4GB of RAM, 128GB onboard storage, and up to 512GB memory expansion via a microSD card.

There is a quad-camera setup on the back with a 48-megapixel main camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, 5-megapixel macro lens, and another 5-megapixel depth camera. In front, there is a 32-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls. Other notable features include a 4,000mAh battery, NFC, and a fingerprint scanner.

When it was first announced, it was unveiled with a higher-end model called the Samsung Galaxy A71. But there is still no update on when that model will be released in the US.

  2. So most users don't want or need the 1,000 to $1,200 phones this is perfect price with a decent camera and basically all phones work the same nowadays. Chinese showed that.
