Samsung Releasing Affordable Galaxy A01 Soon

Samsung is on a roll with its Galaxy A-series devices. Just yesterday, it was confirmed that the Galaxy A51 would be making its way to the US. Today, we're hearing about another budget-friendly device that could soon be in our stores.

The Galaxy A01 was quietly announced last month as an affordable device. Although there is still no official word on where and when the phone will be available, a couple of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) pages give a hint that the phone could be making its way to the US.

The device, hidden under the SM-A015V and SM-A015T1 model numbers, are already on the database of the certifying agency. These model numbers suggest that the device could be available as a Verizon-exclusive and a Metro by T-Mobile model. It is possible that the device could be released pretty soon since the Verizon model already has a custom firmware being developed.

As for its specs, it's likely that this device will have modest hardware considering it is one of the cheapest phones that Samsung will be launching. Some of the specs mentioned by SamMobile include a 5.7-inch Infinity-V LCD display, an unnamed chipset with octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, a 3,000mAh battery, FM radio, dual-SIM support, 13-megapixel main sensor, 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.

Considering the Galaxy A01 is somewhat similar to the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy A10e, it's possible that Samsung could launch it with a price under $100.

  1. Only thing I want to know is what is going to be available to users after out of box updates. Is it really going to be worth buying.
