Spectrum Mobile Now Has 1.1 Million Subscribers

Charter Communications has just hit a milestone for its mobile service.

In a recent report, CEO Tom Rutledge revealed subscriber growth in Q4 2019. With the new numbers, the MVNO service was able to reach 1.1 million subscribers in total. In the quarter alone, Spectrum Mobile was able to add 288,000 lines. This is another addition to the 948,000 mobile lines it added throughout 2019.

Along with the new lines added, Spectrum Mobile was able to earn a revenue of $11.8 billion during Q4. This is a number that has grown 4.7 percent year-over-year. The mobile revenue grew $147 million during the quarter.

This is pretty impressive considering the company only launched its MVNO service in July 2018. And ever since then, they have been steadily adding new subscribers.

Throughout the quarter, Charter reinvested its mobile revenue on mobile-related capital expenditures. In the whole 2019 year, its capital expenditures reached $7.2 billion, which was down from 2018's $9.1 billion. This includes the $432 million mobile-related CAPEX.

This year, the company plans to offer 5G service by the end of March.

Spectrum Mobile uses Verizon's towers to provide service to its subscribers. They offer an unlimited data plan at $45 per month per line or by-the-gig option at $14 per GB.
