Ting Quietly Adds Verizon as MVNO Partner

Earlier today, Tucows gave its earnings report. It included the latest numbers for its MVNO service, Ting Mobile.

According to President and CEO Elliot Noss, the service revenue declined to 2.2 percent in 2019 compared to 2018. Their Q4 service revenue went down by 4 percent compared to the results earned during the same quarter in 2018.

As a whole, the company finished the year with less than 160,000 accounts and over 289,000 subscribers. In all of 2019, the MVNO lost 3,000 accounts and 7,000 subscribers.

Part of the reason for the decline can be attributed to the MVNO's migration away from T-Mobile. It also started offering service credit incentives and device subsidies to transition subscribers from T-Mobile to Sprint.

On the plus side, the CEO shared that the mobile service has quietly added Verizon as one of their MVNO partners. Right now, they are still checking whether or not everything is running smoothly. When they have finished this stage of the process, they will concentrate on promoting their new MVNO partner.
