GreatCall Now Selling Two New Wearable Devices

Back in 2018, Best Buy acquired GreatCall Inc. for $800 million. The acquisition included over 900,000 subscribers of the Verizon MVNO.

As mentioned, the acquisition gave Best Buy a way to expand its revenue in the connected health sector, especially with the MVNO's senior market. Fast forward to today and we're already seeing GreatCall's products being pushed out more in Best Buy stores.

As reported by Wave7 Research, the retail giant has dedicated two aisle endcap displays for Greatcall. One of these endcaps features GreatCall's Jitterbug Smart2 phone and the GreatCall Flip, which cost $74.99 and $49.99, respectively. Ever since the acquisition, the two phones have always been showcased by Best Buy. It even includes John Walsh, the company spokesman, with the tagline "Stay connected, safe & healthy with GreatCall".

Meanwhile the other endcap is newly added at Best Buy's stores. This new aisle features the tagline "Live life to the fullest" and showcases a couple of wearable devices: the Lively Mobile Plus and the Lively Wearable2. Let's talk about these new products.

Lively Mobile Plus

This is a dedicated medical alert device that comes with a push button. It comes in the size of a palm and can be worn around the neck, carried in a purse, or clipped to a belt. The device is waterproof and has fall detection feature. It also comes with 4G LTE network connection, GPS and a one-button 24/7 access to a 5Star agent without the need for a smartphone.

It costs $37.49 (regularly $49.99)

Lively Wearable2

Compared to the first device, the Lively Wearable2 is a step tracker and smartwatch. It has a battery lifespan of up to 4 months and fall detection feature. It can also be worn on the wrist or a lanyard. The device has an on-screen button so that their smartphone can get in touch with a 5Star Urgent Response Agent. This device requires installation of the GreatCall Lively app on the phone.

It costs $49.99.

Service for each item costs $24.99 per month.
