HMD Global Unveils Nokia 5.3, Nokia 1.3, and Nokia 5310 (2020)

The Mobile World Congress was supposed to be held in Barcelona last February 23rd. But because of the COVID-19 threat, the organizers decided to cancel the event. And even though HMD Global's scheduled event in London did not push through today, the company continued to unveil its latest devices.

One of the devices it unveiled is the Nokia 8.3 5G, the company's first 5G-enabled phone. In addition to this, HMD Global has revealed three other devices namely the Nokia 5.3, Nokia 1.3, and the Nokia 5310.

Nokia 5.3

The Nokia 5.3 comes with a 6.55-inch display. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor with three RAM options: 3GB, 4GB, and 6GB. The phone also comes with a 64GB onboard storage that can still be expanded via a microSD card.

The back of the phone is home to a four-camera setup. There is a 13-megapixel main sensor, 5-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a couple of 2-megapixel sensors with a macro shot lens and another for depth sensing. In front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

The Nokia 5.3 includes a 4,000mAh battery and Android 10 OS upon release. It will be rolling out globally by April and will be sold in three color options: Sand, Charcoal, and Cyan. It will be priced at around $200.

Nokia 1.3

The second device that HMD Global unveiled today is the Nokia 1.3. It comes with a 5.71-inch IPS HD+ screen and runs on a Quad-Core Qualcomm 215 processor with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, and up to 400GB expandable memory via a microSD card.

From behind, there is an 8-megapixel camera. The phone also features a 5-megapixel sensor in front and a 3,000mAh battery. Upon release, the phone runs Android 10 Go Edition but is said to get Android 11 Go Edition when it becomes available.

This phone is also set to roll out in April at around $100. Its color options include Charcoal, Sand, and Cyan.

Nokia 5310

If the name sounds familiar to you that's because this is one of Nokia's classic devices. HMD Global has decided to revive this device. Unfortunately, it is still a feature phone that runs Nokia Series 30+ OS instead of Android. This means that it won't be able to run any music streaming apps. But the Nokia 5310 (2020) can play FM radio and MP3 files.

The phone features a curved glass display with rounded corners. The battery is able to last up to 30 days on a single charge. It is said to launch globally later this month with a price that's less than $50.
