Google Fi Can Now Be Activated via eSIM on New iPhone Models

Google has good news for iPhone users. Starting today, you can now activate Google Fi on your iPhone device using eSIM.

With this feature, you'll be able to use a Google Fi number on your device along with a physical SIM card that you are already using. The best news of all is that you can already get a Google Fi number without the need to order one and have it sent to you or even go out of your home to a retail store.

Unfortunately, this good news is not applicable to everyone. Google shares that this feature is only available to new Google Fi users. You can get instructions on how to activate your device via eSIM on Google's support page.

Also, this feature is exclusive to select iPhone models with Dual SIM functionality. Among the list of devices that are supported include the following:

  • Apple iPhone XR
  • Apple iPhone XS
  • Apple iPhone XS Max
  • Apple iPhone 11
  • Apple iPhone 11 Pro
  • Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max

Once everything has been set up successfully, you will need to sign into your account on a device other than the iPhone unit you just activated. The next step is to pick out a Google Fi plan that best suits your needs.

Right now, the Sprint MVNO functionality on iOS devices is still in beta mode. This means that not all of the features on Android devices are available on iOS devices yet. You will need to tweak the settings on your iPhone so you can send texts to Android devices. For more information on how to do this, visit this site.
