Earlier this week, T-Mobile reported its earnings for the Q1 2020 period. This period comprised of T-Mobile's earnings before their merger with Sprint was made official.

During the quarter, T-Mobile was able to add 649,000 customers. This figure consists of 452,000 subscribers in the postpaid phone sector. But comparing this with last year's Q1 earnings, this number has gone down from the 1.08 million subscribers. Perhaps this is because T-Mobile was able to add 242,000 fewer postpaid customers and lost 128,000 prepaid customers during the quarter.

T-Mobile's postpaid and prepaid churn fell for Q1 2020. Its postpaid brand finished at 0.86%, which fell from 0.88% in the same quarter a year ago. Its prepaid churn also fell to 3.52% from the previous 3.85%. These two numbers present record lows for Q1.

For its Q1 2020 earnings, T-Mobile reported that it had a higher number of branded customers. They have a total of 68.5 million customers, which was only 67.9 million from the previous quarter.

When it comes to finances though, T-Mobile was able to bring in a total revenue of $11.11 billion during the quarter. In Q1 2019, it only earned $11.08 billion. The net income for Q1 2020 ended at $951 million, which increased from the $908 million from Q1 2019.

In addition to its earnings report, T-Mobile gave an update on its network. By the end of the first quarter of the year, T-Mobile was able to make 5G live in 49 states and in Puerto Rico. This allowed the network to cover 215 million people. The only state where 5G is not yet live is Alaska, which T-Mobile intends to deploy coverage in May 2020.

T-Mobile shared that its 600MHz 5G network already covers 215 million users. The next city it will deploy the network is Bay Area this week and is slated to get more cities online soon. As for its 600MHz LTE network, it already covers 269 million people. Its 700MHz low-band LTE network also covers a total of 318 million people. As a whole, they have a reach of 327 million people.
