Verizon Forgets Pixel 4a Has Not Yet Been Launched in Changelog Notes

The Google Pixel 4a has been on the news so many times already. And because of this, many forget that the device has not yet been officially announced. Even Verizon had fallen victim to thinking that the device has already been launched to the public.

Earlier today, Verizon posted a changelog to the Pixel 3XL update. The changelog apparently mentions the Pixel 4a. Google is getting ready to launch its new car crash detection feature on its Personal Safety app. The feature is said to be available on Pixel 3 and 3 XL devices this month. The confusion, however, shows that Verizon will be making it available on the Pixel 4a too.

Their announcement reads:

"Today, this feature is already available on Pixel 4s in the US, UK, and AU with primary device language set to English for users who opt-in. In June 2020, this feature will be newly available to Pixel 3 and Pixel 4a users (Pixel 3a is not supported) in the same countries and languages."

The confusion in this statement is probably because Google has changed the launch date of the Pixel 4a a few times already. It was originally said to launch the device in late May before it was pushed to early June. And again, the launch has been pushed back to July 13.

It's possible that Verizon created the support document when they anticipated the Pixel 4a to launch this month and they may have forgotten to remove the reference to the device.
