HMD Global Getting Ready to Unveil Its Latest Devices

HMD Global is getting ready to reveal its new smartphones at the IFA 2020. The devices lined up for reveal include a selection of entry and mid-range models. Plus, the smartphone manufacturer will be unveiling its first 5G device during autumn.

The devices that are in the works include the Nokia 2.4 (aka Wolverine), Nokia 6.3, Nokia 7.3, "Gamora Plus", and the Nokia 8.3 5G.

Nokia 2.4

The Nokia 2.4 is given the codename "Wolverine." It is rumored to have a 6.5-inch screen and will be powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P22 processor with an option for a 2GB of RAM/16GB onboard storage or 3GB of RAM/32GB onboard storage option.

The device has a 13-megapixel camera on the back with a 2-megapixel depth sensor. In front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Other features include a 4,000mAh battery and Android 10 OS upon release.

Nokia 6.3 and Nokia 7.3

The two mid-range phones that HMD Global is rumored to be working on are the Nokia 6.3 and 7.3. Not much is known about these devices except that they will run on a Snapdragon 670/675 and Snapdragon 700 processor, respectively.

They are rumored to have a quad camera configuration on the back with ZEISS optics.

Gamora Plus

Not much is known about the "Gamora Plus" except that it recently made its way to Geekbench. The device is said to be powered by a Unisoc processor with the TA-1258 that was spotted at TENAA recently. The device seen at Geekbench had 2GB of RAM, meanwhile, the one certified by TENAA contained 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage.

Nokia 8.3 5G

Earlier this year, HMD Global announced that it was working on its first 5G smartphone called the Nokia 8.3 5G. During the reveal, the device was said to roll out in summer but it looks like it's getting ready to be launched in the US in autumn.

Among the features of the phone include a 6.81-inch FHD+ display with a Snapdragon 765G processor with 6/8GB of RAM, 64/128GB onboard storage, and a microSD card slot for memory expansion. The device is said to have a quad rear camera configuration with ZEISS optics: a 64-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 2-megapixel depth camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. In front, a 24-megapixel camera is available for selfies and video calls.

Apart from 5G support, the device is said to have a fingerprint reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 4,500mAh battery.

Although it is said to be launched in autumn, there is no exact date on when it will be launched. HMD Global did not disclose carrier availability and price. But it's pretty exciting to see when they will finally release this device.
