Lava Pulse: Feature Phone that Takes Your Blood Pressure

Nowadays, it's important to always be on top of your health. And thanks to our devices, we have tools at our disposal that can help us monitor our health. But for those who are worried about their privacy, a feature phone is a preferred device to help stay connected. Unfortunately, these devices don't usually come with health monitoring tools.

That's why Lava has created a new feature phone with an integrated blood pressure and heart rate sensor. This feature phone is called the Lava Pulse.

This device comes with a 2.4-inch screen with storage expansion of up to 32GB. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, an FM receiver, and a 1,800mAh battery. It runs proprietary feature phone software and comes with pre-installed classic games, including Snake.

It's a pretty basic dual SIM phone with dual band 2G connectivity. It has Bluetooth connectivity, but no GPRS or Internet connection. On the back, there is a camera for taking pictures. The blood pressure and heart rate monitor can be found right next to the camera. It's important to note though that finger-based blood pressure measurements are not that accurate.

The phone will be sold in India for INR 1,949 (or $26). There's no word yet on whether or not this phone is coming to the US. But it will likely be a welcomed device.
