HMD Global Starts Accepting Pre-Orders for Nokia 8.3 5G

HMD Global is rolling out the Nokia 8.3 5G smartphone pretty soon. This is the company's first-ever 5G-enabled device that will be available throughout the world.

We first heard about this device almost six months ago when the MWC 2020 was cancelled. Originally, the device was supposed to arrive in stores during summer around the world. The Finnish company has since been working on a new release date for the device. And now, it looks like HMD Global is ready to start accepting pre-orders for the device tomorrow, September 23rd.

The Nokia 8.3 5G comes with a 6.81-inch PureDisplay screen. it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor with 8GB of RAM, 128GB onboard storage, and a microSD card slot for expandable storage.

There are a total of four cameras on the back: a 64-megapixel main sensor with Zeiss optics, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and another 2-megapixel depth sensor. In front, there is a 24-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, a 4,500mAh battery, and NFC support. Upon release, the device runs on Android 10 OS.

You can sign up to pre-order the device on Amazon at a starting price of $699. HMD Global has promised to make this device available via Best Buy "in the weeks to follow."

Since the device is available as an unlocked hone, you can use it on Verizon's mmWave-based 5G network, or the low-band 5G networks of T-Mobile and AT&T.
