Update 11/18/20: Ting Mobile clarifies Flex plan comes with mobile hotspot use.

Dish Network has also named a new CEO, Robert Currie, who will serve as the senior vice president of Ting Mobile and will spearhead the overall MVNO platform strategy and operations of the Ting Mobile business.

Earlier this year, Dish Network acquired Tucows and some of its assets, such as Ting Mobile. When it announced this development, the CEO of the company, Elliot Noss, promised that "Soon, Dish will be offering much improved pricing". True enough, it looks like this is becoming a reality.

Today, Ting announced its newest plan options. There are a total of four new plans that Ting customers can choose from:

  • Flex Plan - comes with unlimited talk and text for $10 per month, pay per-use high-speed data at $5 per shared GB. and with mobile hotspot
  • Set 5 Plan - comes with unlimited talk, text, 5GB of high-speed data for $25 per month
  • Unlimited Plan - comes with unlimited talk , text, high-speed data, and up to 12GB of hotspot data for $45 per month
  • Unlimited Pro Plan - comes with unlimited talk, text, high-speed data, and up to 30GB of mobile hotspot data for $60 per month

The Flex Plan that Ting is offering is quite similar to their old pay-for-what-you-use option. It's the perfect choice for those who use a feature phone or don't use data at all.

Ting shares that "existing customers are also welcome to keep their current Ting Mobile rates should they wish to." But with these new plan options, Ting is encouraging its customers to "choose smarter."

  1. Flex plan doesn't make sense. For $10, you can get voice/sms + 1 GB at Boost. What am I missing here?

  2. Increase Pro to 100GB of mobile hotspot and I might consider it.
